Beijing, July 8, 2026 – KingAgroot CropScience has once again been recognized with one of China’s highest honors for scientific and technological innovation. At the 2025 National Science and Technology Awards Ceremony, held on July 8 at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, the company’s jointly completed project, “Development and Application of Novel Green Herbicides for Rice and Wheat Fields,” received the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award.
To date, the project has led to 11 new herbicide registrations, and its technologies have been included in the National Weed Management Technical Guidelines issued by the National Agro-Tech Extension and Service Center for six consecutive years. The project has also received four science and technology awards, including the First Prize of the Guizhou Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, and has been granted 45 invention patents.
This marks the second time KingAgroot has received the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. The company previously received the same honor in 2020 for its participation in the project, “Key Technologies and Applications for Herbicide Resistance Management of Major Weeds in Food Crops.”
Receiving this national honor once again reflects KingAgroot’s sustained commitment to original innovation and demonstrates the company’s evolution from individual technological breakthroughs to systematic innovation in herbicide discovery and development.
